I only offer tutoring sessions online using virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom or FaceTime. This approach allows me to reach more students, keep costs affordable, and eliminate travel time and expenses. ​

How do I book a tutoring session?

You won’t be able to book a tutoring session directly until we’ve had an introductory meeting. This 30-minute session ensures that my teaching style aligns with your or your student’s learning needs and goals. It also helps prevent you from committing time and money without first confirming that I’m the right fit. Only after this session can you decide whether to move forward, ensuring trust and transparency between us.

In this session, we’ll discuss your tutoring needs, expectations, and goals. I’ll explain my approach, the services I offer, and answer any questions regarding logistics, teaching style, and pricing. The session concludes with a 5-10 minute sample lesson to give you a feel for my teaching style. The $5 fee for this session is credited toward your first full session if you decide to continue. If not, it will be refunded.

How do you confirm eligibility for government assistance?

If you qualify for discounted rates, I will ask for basic proof of your eligibility, such as an acceptance letter into programs like Medicaid or WIC. I don’t request personal information like account numbers or personal cards, and you should never share such details with strangers. As someone who has benefited from government assistance, I understand what proof looks like and can identify legitimate documentation. This process helps maintain fairness and ensures that those who need support receive it without fear of fraud.

How do I pay for tutoring services?

Payments are officially accepted through PayPal, which I prefer for its security and consumer-friendly refund policies. While I don’t use platforms like CashApp or Venmo due to their less secure refund processes, I am open to discussing alternative payment options on a case-by-case basis if necessary.

I believe in building trust, so I take payment after each tutoring session in good faith, ensuring students don’t feel pressured by pre-paid time constraints. Once the session is complete, payment can be made securely through PayPal or any other agreed-upon method. If you are the student, feel free to include your parent if they will be involved in the process or handling payments. If you are the parent booking for your child, please ensure they join the session so we can determine if my teaching style matches their learning needs. If you are booking for yourself, simply bring your background information. I look forward to hearing your story about why you are interested in tutoring or mentoring services, how you’ve been performing in your class (if it’s for a specific subject), and details about your academic background, including any challenges you’ve faced. During the session, I will share more about myself, my success in the subject or field, and walk you through a quick example problem so you can get a feel for my teaching approach and decide if I’m the right tutor for you.

There is no set schedule for how often we need to meet or how soon after the introductory session you need to book your first session—it’s entirely up to you.
